School Polices and Procedures

Woodland Cove, formerly known as Peas in the Pod, operates according to the following policies and procedures:

Operating Hours: Woodland Cove is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Anything outside of these hours is considered before or aftercare and must be paid for separately.

Student Arrival Time: Students must arrive by 8:30 a.m. If a student is not present by this time, they will not be allowed to attend that day.

NapTime: Students may not be picked up or dropped off during nap time.

Appointments: Appointments should be scheduled before 10:00 a.m. or after 2:30 p.m. If you need to schedule an appointment within these hours, please discuss it with Mrs. Ivy.

Late Pick-up Fee: A late fee of $1 per minute will be applied for pick-ups after the designated closing time.

Inclement Weather: Woodland Cove may choose to close during bad weather conditions. We will consider LPSS (Lafayette Parish School System) and governmental closings. Please be prepared for such situations.

Illness Policy: Students with a fever, diarrhea, contagious cough, or any other contagious symptoms cannot stay at Woodland Cove. If a child has a fever associated with teething and medication does not calm them down, they will not be able to attend until they have been cleared by a pediatrician. Students who have had ear surgery/tubes must stay home for at least 24 hours after the surgery.

Absences and Sick Days: Each student is allowed to have 5 paid sick days. Any additional absences beyond these 5 days must still be paid for.

Holidays: Woodland Cove is closed on all major holidays, with pay.

Curriculum: We follow the Montessori style of teaching for 3 days each week. The other 2 days are designated as developmental play days, where we learn through play. Artwork can be taken home at the end of the week or daily, as preferred.

Supply and Wipe Fee: There is an annual supply fee of $75, due in August. A monthly wipe fee of $7 is due by the 5th of each month.

Participation and Dress-Up Days: We encourage full participation in dress-up days and activities. Although Woodland Cove is an in-home daycare, it is run as a daycare facility.

Daily Reminders For Parents Prior to Drop-Off: Please ensure that your child comes to school ready for the day and check that they have all necessary items. Infants should be fed before coming to daycare to avoid crankiness.

Notices and Payments: A 2-week notice is required when leaving Woodland Cove. Weekly tuition is to be paid on Mondays during drop-off. Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Please ensure timely payment of tuition.

Allergy Notice: Mrs. Ivy has pets in the home. We can accommodate all nutritional needs. If you have any questions or require further information, please feel free to reach out to us.
